Transvaginal Mesh

Transvaginal Mesh is a type of surgical mesh inserted through the vagina. The surgical mesh was introduced in 1990s, to permanently fix pelvic organ prolapse (POP) conditions that typically plague older women after childbirth, menopause, or hysterectomy. A pelvic prolapse occurs when a woman’s pelvic muscles weaken and the pelvic organs, including the bladder, rectum and uterus drop into the vagina.
